I haven't seen anyone do this yet so I thought I'd share
Warning: Mod at your own risk, wear goggles.

These are various stock dart mods that I have come up with. Most are pretty simple and I'm sure some of them have been done before. (That caveat was to ward off the snarky d-bags who like to nit-pick at posts on these forums, you know who you are...)

-All of the darts in the pic have been streamlined to work in CS blasters, with other various improvements

First off a comparison between dart heads:
As you can see the streamline is much longer which means more of the weight closer to the center of the darts length.
In addition to this, the streamlines stem is solid, where the rest of the darts are hollow.

**No pics of this because it requires 2 hands**

How to remove the dart heads from the foam:
-Tightly pinch the foam of the dart closest to the head
-Pull the dart head straight out slowly so the stem of the dart head stretches
-Move where you are pinching the foam back slowly as needed
-depending on the dart and how much glue was used sometimes you may need to do a little work around the top of the dart where the flat part of the foam meets the head before any of this.

The effect that you are going for when pulling out dart is kind of like:

Streamlines
This will fix the problem with these being horribly inaccurate with higher powered blasters.

-As seen in the pics above streamlines have a much longer solid shaft. Along with the light, hollow tip this is what creates the notorious inaccuracies with higher power.

-Once the head is free of the dart trim down the shaft
-Cut open the head of the dart and fill it with hot glue

On a side note, these streamlines can now be used in blasters that have dart pegs that are too long to shoot stock streamlines. (Pointed out by MrPzowned)

Suction Cups

After removing the head
-cut off some of the stem

To streamline:
-cut off the sides of the base
-cut off the side of the cup

-make them both slightly smaller than the foam. You can do this easily by putting the head back into the dart and using it as a guide once the sides of the base are cut off.
Posted Image Posted Image

Dome tips:
- Pool a dab of hot glue into the cup
-place into something that will hold it vertical while it sets
-Works for both streamlined and non streamlined and you can remove the dome anytime if you want the suction cup back

Weighted:
This hole can be used to add weight to the tip and have it perfectly centered

Whistlers /Dart tags
Both of these are the same, one just has velcro.

Remove the head
Sreamlined:
-Cut the stem
-Cut off sides of base
-cut tip to fit
-glue tip to base

Weighted:
WARNING, MOD AT YOUR OWN RISK. IF YOU ARE GOING TO DO THIS MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS ENOUGH PADDING TO ENSURE NO ONE GETS HURT.
There is a hole that runs the length of the stem in whistlers/dart tagers
-Take a small screw and drive it down into the hole. Sink it as far as possible so the head of the screw is under the rubber.
-Cover with hot glue and the tip of the dart.
-You can use old screws from your parts bin to add weight to the dart
-Using this hole as a guide means that your weight will be perfectly centered

Gluing the head back to the dart:
-Put the glue on the stem and base of the dart head instead of on the foam. This will keep the heat from melting the dart.
-Turn the dart head while inserting it into the foam so the glue gets spread

Very nice. Have you tested these out enough to notice any difference in accuracy? I'm most interested in the accuracy of the streamlines after this mod.

The accuracy is very noticeable, especially with a little extra weight added to the tip

I've seen filling the tip with glue before, it's marvelously better. You could toss in a BB into the nice little ring in the dart to get better ranges. The good thing aboout filling the tip with glue instead of chopping it off is that the tips won't break off like with real stefans.

You could also forget the tip and use domes instead. Domes do not need the tip, so you can make two stefans from one streamline or whatever you used. MakeitGo does this, and his dart recovery is better from the orange.

EDIT: Tehe, aboout! Guess where I'm from.

Yeah I figured the hot glue in the streamline tip was nothing new. The chopping off the stem thing works great though. Once you get use to pulling out the tips it's really easy.

Stop putting your name in every single topic you create. You aren't that original.

Why did you cut down the stem of the streamline head, to take down the weight, then proceed to fill the tip with hot glue?

In short:
It redistributes weight from the middle of the dart to the tip.

The longer, solid stem and lighter tip are what makes the streamlines so inaccurate. Because it is so much longer more of the weight is in the center of the length of the dart instead of the tip. This makes the dart fishtail, especially when shot with a high powered blaster.

That, and these can be used in just about any stock blaster. The longer stem makes it so the dart cant fit all the way in the barrel because the air restrictors will not allow it.

Whoa I didn't even think of that. This is kinda cool. Going to add this little tidbit to the guide, thanks.
